Tuesday 12 March, 2019
DAVE Tattum is delighted to be able to confirm the second rider for the 2019 Pride of the Potteries is former Potter Ben Barker.

Barker who has been a supporters’ favourite since representing the club both at Premier League and Conference League with the Stoke Spitfires currently rides for Championship side Redcar and Tattum confirmed that Ben (Barker) can’t wait to get back on the Loomer Road track and entertain supporters with his all action style. Cornishman Barker has ridden for Team Great Britain in the World Cup and also won the Elite League title with Coventry Bees’ back in 2010.

Potters promoter Dave Tattum said “I’m delighted that Ben (Barker) has agreed to ride in the Pride of the Potteries this year. We asked supporters on Facebook earlier in the year who they would like to see in this seasons’ meeting and Ben put himself forward immediately and we’ve since spoken to him and as always, he’s been an absolute delight to work with and I’m sure the supporters will be looking to welcome him back to Loomer Road for the evening. He’s always kept in touch with me and has popped in occasionally when he’s not been riding. We’ve now named two riders now with Max Clegg being the other and I’m sure Max who was unbeatable around here at the back end of last season will relish the challenge, as will the seven Potters riders that will also participate in the meeting on April 13th.”

Tattum also confirmed that once all the riders appearing in the 2019 Pride of the Potteries that the draw for the meeting will take place on the clubs Facebook page LIVE so supporters and all the riders can see the draw for the meeting taking place.
