POTTERS LOOKING FOR POINTS AT MONMORE

Sunday 28 July, 2019
STOKE make the short trip down the M6 to face Cradley in the National League at Monmore Green on Monday night, 7.30pm.

The A.R. Richards Potters have drafted in Jason Edwards as a guest for injured skipper Tom Perry who hurt his back in last Monday’s defeat at Kent and has been told to rest. James Chattin comes into the side as an unattached 2-point rider to cover for Corban Pavitt while Luke Priest takes over the captaincy in Perry’s absence in a meeting that the Potters believe they can get something out of.

Potters team manager Adam Isherwood commented “Cradley are not as strong as they have been in past seasons’ and I believe we have a good chance of getting something out of the meeting. We are going there as we do in any meeting to win and the Heathens have lost around Monmore this season already. We will give them plenty of respect as they have some excellent riders in Max (Clegg) Daniel Halsey and Jack Smith but the tail end is a little long for them this season and we will need the second strings and reserves to back up our top three and we will stand a great chance. In the last couple of meetings, we’ve been in it until the last couple of heats and it’s something we will hopefully get right on Monday in what will hopefully be a cracker of a meeting.”

A win for the Potters will put them back in contention for the play-offs as they are currently 5-points adrift of fourth placed side Belle Vue who have 12-points to Stoke’s 7-points with Cradley currently in fifth place on 11-points although the Potters do still have plenty of home matches to race but everyone is a must win for the Loomer Road club.

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Luke Harris, Tom Spencer, Danny Halsey, Jack Smith, Sheldon Davies, Harry McGurk.
STOKE: Jason Edwards, Shelby Rutherford, Joe Lawlor, Luke Priest (Captain), Connor Coles, James Chattin, Joe Alcock.
