NATIONAL LEAGUE PAIRS - PREVIEW

Saturday 24 August, 2019
STOKE skipper Tom Perry and Joe Lawlor travel to Sheffield’s Owlerton circuit to race in the National League Pairs Championship.

The duo will come up against the top pairings from each club and will be looking to add the pairs title to the fours title that the Potters won last month.

The pairing have been drawn in Group A which sees’ them come up against the Isle of Wight, Leicester and Kent while Group B has Belle Vue, Mildenhall, Plymouth and Cradley.

Potters skipper Tom Perry commented “It’s going to be a real tough meeting and we’ve been drawn in the toughest group, but for us the important thing is to get out of the group stage and if we can get through that I think the final will be a little easier than the group we are in as I believe we do have the three hardest pairings. I’m going there to win races and not ride around at the back and anyone that knows Joe Lawlor will know he’s exactly the same as me. I like the big fast tracks and just hope that it’s not around the kerb racing or it might not be one of my days, but then again as I will as always put 110% effort in and just hope that the track has got a little bit of dirt on it so we can make some passes should we be behind.”

Gates open at the Owlerton Stadium at 4pm with the rider parade at 5.15pm and the first race taking place at 5.30pm.
