NEWCASTLE v POTTERS - PREVIEW - DAVE TATTUM MEMORIAL CUP

STOKE 'Harvey Tyres' Potters take to the track for one night only as they travel to Tyneside to face the Newcastle Diamonds in the Dave Tattum Memorial Cup on Sunday afternoon, 4pm.

The meeting is taking place in memory of former Potters promoter and former Newcastle co-promoter Dave Tattum who passed away last year.
The Potters will be led into action by Steve Worrall who has been named captain of the side and he will be supported by Ben Barker and Ricky Wells. Leon Flint and James Sarjeant complete a solid looking top five with Connor Coles who took the chequered flag for the Potters' four team tournament victory at Loomer Road back in 2019 rides at reserve along with 2019 supporters rider of the year and local rider Joe Alcock who scored 10-points from his opening meeting for the Kent Royals on Tuesday night at Plymouth.
The team will be managed by Dave Tattum's son Lloyd Tattum and former rider and fans favourite Nigel Crabtree who also rode for the Diamonds in his career.
Former Potters rider Rob Grant who is the promoter of the Diamonds is looking forward to the challenge of the Potters select side as they open their season and are led by new signing Bradley Wilson-Dean and he will be backed up by Paul Starke and skipper James Wright. In the engine room of the team are Matthew Wethers and former Potters Max Clegg and Lee Complin who starts the season at reserve with newcomer George Congreve.
Potters joint team manager Lloyd Tattum commented "I hope a lot of Potters supporters can make it up to Tyneside for the meeting to cheer the lads on. I feel we have assembled a good team to take on Newcastle and hopefully this can become an annual event if Rob (Grant) is willing to do it.
"My Dad and Rob had a great friendship and full respect to Newcastle for putting on this meeting and hopefully we can get a sneaky win up there on Sunday"
